Christian,

I can understand your fatigue. QuestWorlds has gone through several stages, several times of dormancy, several rebirths, and several rethinks. I can't really comment on what did or didn't happen before I picked up the license from Issaries about a year ago. That said, I've seen some of the well intentioned forum posts you mention. They weren't something I was involved in. They are the efforts of keen supporters trying to valiantly keep things moving, or at least keep some excitement for the system alive. I thank them for their faith and support.

Here is where we are: QuestWorlds this summer. Final manuscript delivered on spec and on time by Robin Laws, a serious pro with a track record for innovation, creativity, and engaging writing. This time, just like the last time, he is not working in a vacuum. We are going through much of the feedback from the last several years, seeing what rules work, don't work, need improvement, need better examples, or more detail. Robin's going to be asking for feedback from a variety of sources. Also, the revised rules will be playtested. If I just wanted Robin's name on the cover, I could have done nothing since I already had it on the cover of the current edition.

Lastly, you are not "a bitter frustrated paranoid HQ-nerd", although I could call you one if it makes you happy. :-)

Hope that helps,
Rick Meints
