  You know, that may be it. For Orlanthi at least,   there's an implied "Do not break oaths" as part of the   culture, and at quite high level, too. Well, at 17,   because all cultural things are 17, but....

  That's not a straight score at all. It's   relationship (spouse) 17
  augmented by
  do not break oaths 17 (+2)
  relationship (clan) 17 (+2)
  initiate of deity who hates oathbreakers 17 (+2)   and probably a whole list of other reasons why you   really don't want to break that oath.
