Greg has in the past said that several manifestations of Chaos are when something proper, normal and decent is taken to extremes.

I would suggest that some Heortlings view(ed) head-taking as proper, normal and decent (under certain circumstances), and that the Than cult perverts this into a vile and chaotic act.

I think Argrath's Headhunters are (marginal?) Heortlings, and not Than cultists. There may well be some secret Than cultists (in the disorganised, "only worshipping Than, no links to Atyar or Thanatar" sense) among the Headhunters, of course.

As I've said previously and elsewhere, Thanatar represents a chaotic perversion of the ancient, honourable Orlanthi custom of head-taking.

Just my $0.02.

Cheers, Nick
