I don't want to be putting words into Greg's mouth, but FWIW I'd say that there are many doors to Illumination, some of which will involve Deep Study of Lunar philosophies, which will require and involve use of NP. All languages are both tools and also cultural constructs - witness the umpteen eskimo words for 'snow' to reflect their environment and the very clear distinction between two Russian words for crime, one of which means 'something I think is morally wrong' and the other 'something which is against the law (ie, the State thinks is wrong)'. Thus, NP can act as a 'viral carrier' for the meme which is the Lunar Way, just as exposure to *any* other source of cultural contact can change the outlooks of those exposed to it. But in terms of Illumination, it is more that it can act as a tool - one tool of many available - to reach this state.
Perhaps an important point to restate here is that while there are those who reach Illumination through the Lunar Way, the Lunar Way is not 'about' Illumination as such - and Illumination need not involve anything to do with the Lunar Way at all!
