I can't believe I forgot to mention KoDP. I bought it about four years ago, and I'm still playing it (and still finding descriptions and branches that are new to me). If anything I'd hold off on Barbarian Adventures and buy KoDP in your initial batch. There are SO many bits in there that just scream out to be turned into adventures, and it will give you a really good view of (at least one version of) Heortling life. Oh, just to point out though, it is set in the resettlement, when people are coming back into Dragon Pass after the dragons ate everybody).
