Yes, this is how I've seen it all along. With "the Humakti involved": the adults responsible for this: being Salinarg. I've always seen him as Humakti. Not that he took any of those nasty geases himself, of course. The outrage at what he was doing to those kids was one thing I see as a major reason for so many of the royal family leaving Sartar at this point. This is just IMG and IMO, though.

Who I think without checking was in her early teens
when she took Boldhome. And had been HQing long
before. She seems to have come out of it surprisingly
sane and well-balanced, though. Of course, the Lunars
have had a lot more practise at brain-washing their
children :(
