The Vinga cult is unusual in that women can join temporarily for a set purpose, and then return to their usual cult when the purpose (usually a vow of vengeance or the killing of a murderer, rapist or other threat) is accomplished. But this is not something to be taken lightly, and usually happens only when appeal to more usual defenders (brothers, husband, the fyrd, the chief) has proved useless or when the circumstances are immediate and traumatic. (e.g. brothers, husband, fyrd, chief all wiped out).
