A point to avoid getting confused over (though I don't think you were, yet).
There is a difference between:

  1. Having a ring structure such that Orlanth is not the leader (your original question)
  2. having a standard structure with Orlanth as the leader, but this place being taken by someone whose primary allegiance is to some other deity. (As previously discussed, this is a bad idea, but becomes quite common once the Lunars invade and supress Orlanth).
  3. having a clan which has more than the standard number of initiates of some deity other than Orlanth (Humakt, say), but whose ring structure is non-the-less standard.
