The Indian Shaker Church, founded near Seattle, combined belief in (the invisible) God with the local animist practices. I believe in the early days of the church, there was a notion that a person's guardian spirits could be baptized into the religion along with that person. Apparently there was a prohibition on use of written scripture. The Indian Shaker church is NOT related to the American Shaker sect -- the Indian Shaker name comes from trembling that worshippers sometimes exhibited during worship.
The Indian Shaker Church still exists -- I don't know much about what its members believe now.
I suppose some a similar church might spring up in Glorantha where animists have been taken over incompletely by Malkioni. Maybe somewhere in Fronela, or in odd corners of Trader Prince lands.
