I think you're right about the distinction between air and sky. In using this for A to B flying it's probably a kind of high ballistic kind of thing. Terrain-folowing nap-of-the-earth type stuff should be much harder than Orlanthi wind magic, but it would be much better for long journeys.

On the other hand, in combat it is of course just as good as the character's ratign in it. You could use it as an augment on your Bow skill to shoot down arrows on your enemies from above, or to enhance your horse riding skill to evade an enemy. Thus the fying this becomes a neat special effect, but of course if yoyu've only og a ratign of 10 in it it's not practicaly all that useful, and would be easily countered by higer rated enemy abilities.
