I do not believe that is the case. I spent many years up in in the subarctic  working as a field geologist and I am pretty sure that Elk =/= Moose =/= Caribou. And all of those have, at one time or another, shown up in camp trying to eat our laundry (mmm salty).

Or maybe I am missing the point here?
