If the members of both sides continue to abide by the moral precepts of the saint concerned, yes. Assuming that the rebel leader at least appears to be a just and honourable sort and there are logical reasons for following him, the only problem is likely to be if you happen to follow the Patron Saint of Smiting Rebels, or some such.
