<PRE>I have found that generally, recruiting from outside the clan it is more
likely to upset your carls and spending extra cows just makes that worse. If
you end up recruiting from other clans that sometimes upsets them also. I
will often recruit new clan members and then recruit weaponthanes from within
my clan.
