A "grimoire" in game rules, is simply a magical text pertaining to the Essences. It can be a codex, a roll, inscriptions on a gem, painting on a wall, whatever. The word itself comes from the old French root "grammat.,gramma" meaning "letter, piece of writing".

In HQ2, formularies and scriptures are simply subsets of Grimoires.
