There was a RQ scenario in the old DragonLords fanzine whereby the PC's enter a mysterious cave, encounter various strange beings (ISTR a Dragonnewt playing bridge with his other incarnations) before eventually exiting by climbing out of a "Real" Dragon's ear - they have been literally inside a Dragon's dream...
