I'd have linked it to him being a Bull, they are aggressive (unthinking) herbivores, and to Storm - a turbulent thing. Both his Storm and Bull/beast natures lead to the unthinking aggression.
He's a big dumb brute with a stout heart who is too dim witted to know when he doesn't stand a chance (against the devil, or anyone else) and too stubborn to give up.
