As I recall from "How The West Was One" (Non-canonnical free-form, but source of most of my musings on the west...) The Aeolians have about 16 Castes rangeing from Chief down to Sitickpicker and matching the "Occupation" keywords for Orlanthi in "Hero Wars".

My own variation on the issue of non-mobility within the Rokari is to say that Caste is determined not at Birth, but on becoming a member of the church - whatever the "Baptism" analogy is. In most cases, this will be the caste of your parents, but it does allow for children to be dedicated to the Church (or the Army) and so becoming a member of the Wizard or Soldier Caste even though their parents are not. No doubt some ultra-conservative hard line Rokari look down upon these people, but they are officially accepted by the church.
