No, it is not. This "cannibalisation" thing is just an urban legend. I have just passed the threshold after which "Rome" is producing money instead of costing (after EIGHT DAYS of sales) and both editions are selling well. Someone admitted to have bought both editions. The reason I have less purchases on lulu at present is that most people who wanted a printed book bought a copy at Tentacles (except poor Simon Bray), but with 50+ copies sold in Europe alone (US sales are managed by Chaosium) in less than 2 weeks I am more than happy! And the number of PDF sales is roughly the same so far, enough to boost us to top ten on DriveThru. Exactly where Moon Design was when they went all-out on PDFs in 2007.

So, no, there is no risk, AFAIK. But Moon Design's business model must be different from mine.

> And I realise that even producing a pdf costs money. While I don't know how finished the manuscripts actually are, but I get the impression that a couple of days work on lay out and a clip-art cover would go a long way.

Maybe five for a longer book, but two days and free clip arts is exactly what was needed for Stupor Mundi (80 pp.), and the product is still selling after two years. Despite the PDF.

And the realist in me answering.
