I'm a bit puzzled why you chose Cathora specifically. She's not associated with beasts
and Eiritha herself isn't particularly associated with being the ancestress of the Praxians.

If you want the Lopers to survive the Greatlands

1. Jakaru the Indigo Conqueror acquired a herd of Lopers when he plundered Desero's horde (Desero being another face of Storm Bull which might be why the Loper People would want to hide from him).
2. When Dengabalu conquered Melib, they raided Genert's garden often that they acquired one of his beasts.
3. When Orlanth slew Aroka, the Blue Tribe used the surviving pieces of him to make the first lopers. Because Aroka had carried Heler inside him, the Lopers did not need water when travelling.
