A lovely subject. When I'm done with the thesis, I'll try and dig out my Old World systems hat and discuss trade patterns in stone and bronze age cultures. Or is Glorantha past that phase these days? :)

There's less of it than you think and surprisingly large amounts were conducted basically as exercises in diplomacy and self aggrandizement by rulers - quite often to the drastic detriment of their subjects.
