This is not so much a campaign idea, but felt that Balazar was a place that could have been written about by Edgar Rice Burroughs - a Gloranthan Pellucidar, or a Land Before Time.

Instead of "Ninjas attack" as something to do when the action fails to happen, Balazar has some giant reptile attack (allosaur, giant crocodile, waterwyrm).

The Mostali in the Valley of Hammers must have some sort of tunnelling device that brings them from their world.

I had a lot of fun with Balazar with an online game, set in the 1330's, but mostly the same.
