In Glorantha, there is "An underlying law of magical convergence" [1], that brings protagonists together. This works at all levels:
- from personal - the rise of a hero brings out worthy opponents
- through small communities - a clan's "Summons of Evil" brings out the (usually) correct enemy, even if this requires that the enemy sets out before the ritual is performed
- and on to the epic: typically close to the end of an age, many rituals converge to bring a wondrous result. In the First Age it was the Sunstop and in the Third, it will be the Rise of the Boat Planet.

Lunar magicians are planning the consecration of the new great Temple of the Reaching Moon in Dragon Pass. This ritual requires careful calibration with the state of the Sky and having a new planet will mean they have to re-configure some of their rituals.
