These things may not be mythologically easy but in Time they appear to happen. Tatius is a direct descendant of the god Yelm but still manages to work closely enough with the Grazers to send them into Esrolia.
Shargash was once "something like" [big scare quotes] a rival sun god, but they learned to work with him...
