The ability to move out of that code IMO is very difficult to do without being Illuminated. It's as difficult as getting the current pope to admit that female priests are theologically possible for a RW comparison. To the Sartarites, Humakt does have a sense of Right and Wrong and it's reflected in the myths they tell about him. Humakt kills the Unholy Trio because they continue to harm Orlanth's subjects in KoS and Humakt smashes the Well of Death and so saves the world. With this background, the average Orlanthi (including those who worship Humakt) would think you were stark raving mad if you tried to tell them Humakt has no Right and Wrong.

Humakt is not Illuminated. Some sources (namely Cults of Terror) say that he was illuminated by Rashoran along with Uleria but I have read somewhere that Greg said that this was an error or a God Learner mistake. Given Humakt's origins in Ralios and Rashorana's Pelorian roots, it is improbable that the two ever met during the Great Darkness.

The Sartarites and Esrolians would *kill* chaotics if they tried to join their Humakt temple. One of the tribal kings of Sartar (Saroscrip Coldeye) is a Sword of Humakt and is a patriotic sartarite. If a broo came along and asked to join his cult or worship at the temple, I can't imagine the king letting him do so (let alone continue breathing), could you?

I think the cult writeup was written with the writer aware of the fact that Humakt was worshipped by the Dorastran Broos. Furthermore the RQII writeup explicitly says that Chaotics can join Humakt but find the discipline required to do so very hard IIRC. However IMO the variance of Humakt Worship will impose some costs. I don't think Onslaught would be able to use Oath or Detect Truth Spells due to his neglect of the honourable 'side' of Humakt (Sartarite PoV). Stephen Martin in the Book of Drastic Resolutions says he believes that the Dorastran Sword Broos (who have Fumble) don't get Sever Spirit and Turn Undead.
