Darkness and Light

Why the temple of Black Arkat is not in the lands of the Kitori - because the Kitori are a mixed human and troll tribe (a human chief and a troll queen). So any temple to a troll god in Kitori lands would also have troll members, thus it would be a temple to Arkat, not the Temple of Black Arkat (which is unusual for having only human members).

Which means the Temple to Black Arkat is not in Kitori lands - but please, don't get excited about it - another temple to Arkat may well be there, with everything the temple of Black Arkat has and trolls besides.

(though note that the Arkat cult is not exactly mainstream among trolls either, and does not particularly require centralised temples - I thought more of enigmatic Kitori Arkati magicians lurking in the deep forest, rather than a big Arkati temple).

I envision the parable of the sundial, where young initiates into some other Pelorian cults beside Yelm are shown the sundial as an example of how the Other of Yelm, the thing he can never see, can still be useful and essential. Foolish ranting verging on blasphemy, of course.
