Good show!

FAQs might be another possiblity -- not only will (by definition) some of the frequent questions be answered right on it but you could always list e-mail addresses of people open to questions on certain topics. So something like "See X for such-and-such topics, See Y for such-and-such," etc., if there'd be enough people willing to field questions.

I'm not sure what Chaosium's take on this would be, actually -- as long as there was a minimum of direct copying and plenty of citations (with the appropriate legalese tacked on), I can't see that it'd be a problem.

Format something like: (asked on the digest recently)   Q:"Can trolls really eat rocks?"
A:"Yes. Trolls are capable of digesting flesh, wood, dirt, air or even rock, due to their complicated and slightly magical digestive system. But they do require some balance in their diet. Note p. 48-49, Trollpak."

Enough information that the questioner can hopefully run the session/plan the adventure/whatever and note where they can go to read more on it, but not so much as to mean they don't _need_ to buy the product, and thus hurt the market. If/when Chaosium gets a server, _and_ if they like the idea, they could always get stuck on there, I suppose. Or is there a copyright problem with AH, to reference to products AH still sells...?

I'm not sure what you'd do in cases where the info isn't official -- maybe just reference that it _isn't_ official? Depends on Chaosium, I suppose. (Like -- ooh, another uz example -- "Are trolls violent?" You might summarize some of the opinions from the Digest.)

Finally, you just post the sucker to the Digest, incorporate any feedback you get, and slap the finalized version on the WWW somewhere. Any volunteers? If this seems like a winner, I'd be happy to do a FAQ for, um, trolls.

Anyway, I suppose it'd leave open the question of what FAQs would be useful. Hmmm. How about Trolls, What Trolls Eat, Sun Gods that Trolls Hate (and the Authors who Greg them)*, and Everything Else. That outta do it. <g>

Even if FAQs are, er, frowned on, I suppose it'd be possible to compile a list of Digesters willing to answer questions on various subjects, and stick it somewhere, so that people new to RQ can find it and use it.

Just my 20 bolgs. (Well, they're only worth a 1/10 of a clack, you know).
