I was under the impression that Eyteries came to the Lunar Empire/ pantheon _from_ the Carmanians. Don't forget that at the time the Red Goddess was born, Carmania was much larger than just the four provinces of the LE's current 'Western Reaches'.

The bit about Etyries being Issaries' daughter probably came about as one of the 'marry into the Lunar pantheon' efforts. It would certainly have helped ease tension during the acquisition of the southern provinces  (Saird, Holay, etc...).

Hugh invites us all to take up Pharaonic ways; to travel into the past, to take up residence in a southern land, and to conduct tournements heavily involved with Luck & Death.

Pity I won't be able to make it....
