Esrolia

Thomas writes lots of fun stuff about mummies in the Land of the Mother Goddess, ending with: =

> This implies mummification while still alive, a somewhat trollish
> ritual what with taking out the innards and all. Darkness ties to
> the Earth cults?

And once again I step in to remind everyone that Esrolia was ruled by trolls from before the Dawning until the coming of the Pharaoh a few hundred years ago. There are *lots* of trollish influences in Esrolite culture, religion, etc.

(I incline towards bas-reliefs rather than wall-paintings for Esrolite temples: both for a "more archaic" feel and 'cos they're "visible" to Trolls).

Jane writes, on jousting gear:

> I can see that the horse armour would be needed for battle, but for
> a sporting joust, perhaps not? Your opponent isn't trying to kill
> your horse, after all.

Conspicuous display. If you have amazing bright shiny iron plate mail and matching horse barding, you'll be inclined to wear it to show off.
