Howdy all -

A quick preview of one of the events coming VERY SOON to Glorantha Con V.  I still have room for a few more folk - but you have to sign up ASAP. For the rest of you, much more detailed character sheets will be on the way.

The Cast of Fall of the House of Malan

It is the year 1352 in the Wilderness of Quiviniland. Old King Malan rules his tribe with an iron fist from his hill fort at Two Ridge Fort. Warrior, King and Founder, Malan's remaining years are few and he is slowed by the aching wounds taken from countless. Still the silver boar grasps onto power and refuses to declare an heir. Around him, greedy kings, proud thanes and hungry warriors circle around him like a pack of wolves.

Costuming tips: There are basically three types of folk in Fall of the House of Malan. All are Orlanthi barbarians which means loot whatever Celtic, Viking, Anglo-Saxon or whatever type of European barbarian you want. My understanding with the Convention organizers is that real swords are a no no, so please no actual weapons.

The nobles. These are thanes, priests, chiefs and kings. Think upper-class barbarian. Lots of jewelry (torcs, armbands, necklaces) and ceremonial accoutrements.

The warriors. These are huscarls and clan warriors. Paint yourself blue and go wild.

The carls. These are the backbone of the tribe and form the majority of the LARP players. Think proud barbaric yeoman farmers - who happen to be armed to teeth and take no **** from anybody.

Cult costuming. Humakt worshippers wear death runes (a nice Death Rune painted on your forehead works fine). Orlanth the Thunderer worshippers festoon themselves with storm runes.
