Healing Magic

This is realy an issue for the Rules Digest, however.

I've experimented with this sort of thing too. At one time I linked healing magic to the First Aid skill, so that the points of the heal spell simply added to the results of a First Aid attempt, which takes 1 full minute. The problem with this is that you will make character deaths more common. I have recently seen several situations where used of delayed healing rules would have resulted in character deaths.

A way round this is to make dying more difficult. You can do that by having death only occur when the character goes to minus CON in hit points, or some such (which I also do).

If you make a change like this you have to be prepared to accept and enforce the consequences.
