I believe that the common consensus has been in the past that it's concentrated in one of the hands. If you're talking about the herdman equivalent to a Ball ofTails it's definitely the hand. I believe you could imprison it's soul in its head but that would be a more positive place to store an animal's spirit than its tail which is done partially as an insult to the spirit.
