I enjoyed Nick's recent Lunar postings. His perceptive speculation at the end of one is so cool and brimming with MGF that it must be correct:
>NOTE: As an aside, it's possible that supernatural, mystical and meta-cosmic
>beings have to gain a *mundane* nature in order to join the Cult of the Red
>Goddess. (The rest of us have that part already)...
>
>They're all "grounding" themselves, so they don't float off to the Moon...
These leads to lots of "heads in the clouds" divine-types muddling about in mortal affairs to earn the requisite brownie points. Think of all those movies and tv series ("Wings of Desire", "City of Angels", "Michael", "Touched by an Angel", and that one which had the bloke from "Little House on the Prarie" in it), and extrapolate from there.
Petteri from Finland asked:
>3.uppland marsh is big plase is there some information of it anywhere?
Hey, you're in luck: the next issue (#19) of Tales is the Upland Marsh special, devoted to the whole place!
Alan E and Carmel J Brain of Canberra speak enthusiastically of the funky Japanese TV series "Monkey":
>It's a Classic Heroquest, attempting to retrieve Holy Scriptures, in a
>journey from China to India. The original is heavily allegorical, and
>Pilgrims' Progress is very much in the same vein...
>
>...It's very Gloranthan.
It's also a load of fun, with sometimes very whacky choices of words in the English dubbing.
>In Australia, on the ABC at Saturdays, from 0900-1200, they're showing
>re-runs of "Monkey". When originally screened, Australia didn't have
>colour TV, and this is the first time it's been repeated.
I seem to remember watching the series the first time round in about 1983 or so in glorious colour. Australia might have got colour tv pretty late (1974), but not that late surely? Or did colour broadcasting take almost another decade to percolate inland towards our national capital?
