Hey, guess who just bought WOC? Hasbro Interactive. The same people who
bought Avalon Hill. At this rate GenCon 2002 should be fun, as it will
consist of 20 booths run by a total of three computer companies, plus a
marginalized handful of people who sell things that require literacy. And
of course 10,000 people who want autographs of assorted celebrities and
coudn't care less about gaming.
So I would not worry too much about the RPGA. Seems a lot like rearanging
the deck chairs on the Titanic. I think more drastic measures are called
for. Exactly what, I have no idea. But I'm sure it would be a really
good start if Hero Wars was outstanding. We will soon find out, I guess.
