My 2 Bolgs worth:

A Mistress Race troll might feel about her husband(s) the same way many people would feel about their pet dogs/cats. So deliberate killing of one without reason would justify Retribution, much the same way as shooting a Hillbillies Hunting Dog might.

Re a Male Troll's justification, there'd be no worse insult/injury than to kill his Ma. Imagine the Barker(?) boys after Ma Barker was killed. Initial reaction grief, followed by berserk fury or an unrelenting hunt "to the death".
I see a male Troll's attitude to his wife as being similar to Rumpole's attitude to "She Who Must Be Obeyed". And vice-versa.
