This is the residence of a troll clan with female uz and trollkin around, not a high-level military installation.

And trolls can obtain decent security with trollish tactics. The Sazdorf manage to live without Krang's security routines.

Hmmm, this is the central building of several controlled by a moderate size clan. It houses the chief females and all of the clan wealth, amassed over centuries. Tactics have to be modified to fit the terrain, which, in this case, are far less secure than a cave. Perhaps the guard posts whould be spread out more, but there should not be less of them.    By contrast, the Sazdorf have a large, underground complex with a front entrance that has multiple barracades, fully staffed 24hrs x 7days. The back entrance is concealed and protected by a well trapped maze. At least a dozen hills (I presume) along the valley are tunneled with spy posts and messengers to bring the earliest possible warning of intruders while they are miles away.    In my opinion, the defenses of the two clans are very similar, and the Sazdorf's seem to be slightly more paranoid than Krang's. PS: I would have written much sooner, but I have been in Ukraine for the past two weeks.
