<<What exactly is an Alynx?>>
An alynx is a type of cat similar in appearance to a RW lynx but smaller and with dark fur; the God Learner name for the species is Felis umbrosus. Five breeds of alynx are known in Glorantha; the wild form is the shadow cat, a creature whose stats are given in RQ2 and the RQ3 Glorantha Bestiary. The most common of the four domesticated breeds, however, is the hevren, which can be distinguished from the shadow cat by its paler, tawny coat and larger size. Hevren alynxes are mostly used by the Heortlings as herding animals, much as western Genertelans use sheepdogs, although they can also make good hunting companions.
