I think there may possibly be a myth linking the two animals and involving Heler. There are different versions in Ralios, Saird, Dragon Pass, and other Orlanthi Lands.

I don't see the Orlanthi as primarily sheep herders either, cattle are what they value. Sheep, IMO, are only one step away from goats (urgh), which are almost broos (yuck). Vaguely related point - Good 'Shepherd' - funny name for a guy who lives in a land without sheep. Why isn't he called Good Herdsman, or is he really a remnant of the Sheep Riders of Godlen Age Prax? This really is too minor to be a Thing That Greg Got Wrong About Glorantha but if I can't complain about it on the Glorantha Digest where else can I?
