<< From: "Bob Stancliff" <stanclif_at_ufl.edu> Subject: Chalana/Uleria

spilled the 'cup of life' or something similar.
I think the point is that fertility thrives in both disorder and law. It is
the power of life.
Nothing else can really work with Disorder, except maybe Change/Mobility.
<< Side note: Uleria is noted for courtesans, and courtesans are noted for singing and playing music... another Harmony tie.>>
This is an extremely tenuous link. Courtesans are primarily noted for other things. Since when has a Brothel been a place of Harmony, Sacred or not?
<< and two of Uleria's
three spells are really Harmony spells, so the cult write-up is flawed
without some changes.>>
They are not. Next you'll be saying that Trickster' sLie spell is a Harmonious spell because it can be used to the same effect as Community. Erotocomatose Lucidity is hardly harmonious. It is your basic Orgy spell. Reproduce is as Fertility based as you can get.
<< ALL Healing, restoration, and resurrection magic is Fertility magic.>>
In what way can you possibly think that Healing is Fertility? Growing is Fertility, Repairing sounds like something a Maker would do. No one thinks that Giant Turtles are incredibly Fertile because they live so long. Is Jesus Christ famous for his legendary Fertility for ressurecting himself?
On Ernalda:
<< She clearly abjures violence but not to the degree that
Chalana does, because her tie to Fertility is weaker by my premise, and
this supports my premise. Fertility cults abjure violence & Death and the
controller of Fertility strongly opposes violence & Death.>>
Chalana has no tie to Fertility. Do her Priestesses have to prove their Fertility by giving birth? Does she have any magic that makes things more fertile, like Bless Calf, or Bless Crops, or Reproduce? Is she the mother of anyone except Arroin? (compare this with Ernalda who has all sorts of children, with loads of husbands, all over the place)
<< But violence is an attempt to impose Death, not Disorder. Violence
and
Death are the direct result of war and combat, Disorder is a side affect.
Harmony and Death can co-exist when properly applied, as in Hunter and
some other cults, but Chalana -always- opposes violence and Death, so must
therefor be strongly tied to the opposite rune of Fertility.>>.
We agree that Harmony and Death coexist, in hunter cults, for example. Chalana does not actively oppose violence and death, she simply does not partake of them. Only chaotic cults (like the red moon) are able to combine opposites (Life and Death).
Please check your dictionary definition of Fertility. Try thinking about 'Fertiliser' , about the Harmonious way that rabbits breed etc.
