3 versions of the same proverb in circulation.

"Better a strong enemy than too strong-a-friend"

"Trust strong enemy before too strong-a-friend"

"Trust weak-friend with favoured wives and fatted calves. Trust strong friend not with old-soup-bone"

The first is the oldest version. The others are derivatives for dumb people, adopted by incomers like sun domers [version 2] or Pol Joni [version 3].

If you've ever played Nomad Gods, the first version is probably clear enough.

There is also the mysterious "don't eat yellow snow". Which it is rumoured the <rare> Praxian White Princess heroquestor may fathom. But that's of admittedly little circulation.
