Oliver asks:

>1) What colour is a troll's skin?

It ranges from deep black to mottled-grey (sometimes almost whitish). My personal theory is that Uz skin turns lighter in sunlight, in a similar way to Human skin darkening. Thus Uzuz in wonderhome were all born with pure-black skin, and any grey spots they might bear are scars of Hanroo field, or later exposure to sunlight. Most Uzko are born with varying degrees of mottling, and tend to be more grey as a result of their light-taint. I think that skin-lightening can be passed on to offspring in a Lamarkian fasion, and that most mothers will be unwilling to suffer the suns touch for fear of losing their pigment. I suspect that Uz consider dark skin to be a major component of beauty, and also magical power. Chaos-tainted trolls (cave and mountain varies) will have varying skin colors, with green being predominant for obvious reasons of consistancy with general fantasy gaming convention ;-)

>2) Why does Orlanth have a thief's aspect?
>

Because he steals stuff. He steals his brother's sword, Yelm's wife, Kyger Litor's sandles, and Arachne Solara only knows what else. In most of the troll myths where he appears, he is either a bandit or burgler. He's just a big sissie, good-fer-nuthin, cheating sneak. hmph.

<please excuse the rant -- I'm still a little miffed that the #$(*#_at_ pc's in Jeff's Dawn Age campaign managed to thwart my entire troll army by just dropping out of the sky and attacking their Kygerlith and flying off again... grrrr... >
