As long as the killer is serious, yes. If not, the entire quest will fail - see the failure to resurrect Balder because Loki posed as a giantess. So it's a tough gamble - can you be sure the killer won't pretend to go through the ordeal of remorse (involves Ehilm's Flame, among others), but will play along to thwart the only attempt at resurrection there is?
