One feature I've borrowed is the dualism (or often more-ism). Any event can viably be looked at from more than one viewpoint. For example, is Glorantha's Great Darkness an Ice Age, when the sun was usually covered by clouds, or was the sun in the Underworld? The answer is yes.

BTW, the discussion of Zzabur killing Malkion reminds me that for some time I thought it was supposed to be the Vadeli who did it. Whether or not this is so, it certainly makes for a plausible heresy.

I could be wrong, but I had the impression that Brithini don't use spells at all (after all, every peasant is immortal, too). Their longevity is a consequence of their correct behavior.
