It's one too many hoops for my ageing brain to jump through, for no perceived game benefit other than deliberate obscurity.

Sticking to a literal interpretation of Odal property ("Everyone owns everything; nobody owns anything") would IMO be like running a Malkioni game with a 32-hour clock: unnecessary interference in the way players perceive and comprehend the world, mucking things up for everyone, constantly, through foolish dedication to poorly-thought-through source materials.

Of course, if you play Orlanthi away from home, it hardly matters a hoot. Just try adding cows and personal prestige to the mix, though...

I refer the hon. gentleman to the answer I gave on my website some months ago.

Given that we all know of them from RQ2 and RQ3 sources, there are obviously *some* "Yelmalio (rather than Elmal) Clans". But I would agree that (Orlanthi) "most" clans in general and (Orlanthi) "all" southern Sartarite clans probably worship Elmal rather than Yelmalio. There should, however, be some remaining "Yelmalio" clans, whose ancient Yelmalio-worshipping traditions are linked to the Sun Dome Temples and the Dara Happan Empire.

The alternative interpretation would mean that "King of Sartar" set out to damage or destroy existing campaign settings, and I'm sure *that* wasn't intended.
