For Godunya, they had to search for him and found him in the Plateau of Statues after about four years. So the search for the Lama is appropiate methinks, although Godunya was alive in Yanoor's time...

They search for the most wise sage they can find and also the sage has to be a Darudist (they don't want any NiangMaoists, Chalites, Mashunasanists etc). Still leaves plenty of room for drama since the truely wise are not found in the imperial bureacracy.
