Harmast Saga records that Harana Illor was Umath's secret weapon against the predark monster called Howling Void, and that in its use the 'seven powers' (notes?) were released. Howling Void was killed by Umath, and the first harp was carved from the monster's breastbone.

So what happened next is probably up to you...
