Functionally (i.e. in a dry boring game mechanical sense), almost all feats are identical: they are used to reduce an opponent's AP total, or defend against same. Many can also be used to augment abilities. A very few are used solely for themselves, such as flying.
Since they all do more or less the same thing, it's not necessary to describe them the same way as many game systems have to. Instead, there's the opportunity for the players to improvise.
I agree that the game could have been presented better, but it's daunting mostly because it takes a different approach than most games. It can take a while to adapt, but it's worth it.
