I thought that the Masters of Luck and Death Tournament took place in a sort of alternate Holy Country on the heroplane with bizarre inhabitants, mini-quests, riddles, contests etc?

The MGF idea that sprang from this is that the Pharoah's severing was from the mundane plane. He now sits in this alternate realm either awaiting rescue or completely unaware that more time has passed than usual.

Since he is the only one who can activate the Quest to get him back, or at least pass on the specific knowledge for each Quest to be started, he's stuffed

At least until someone else works out what is going on and goes and gets him
