Personally, I tink the Gods got tired and decided to become people again. Orlanth and his version of Ernalda settled down and became farmers somewhere in the mountains, Yelm became a bureaucrat in the White Moon Empire, Teelo Norri became a orphan girl. After all, ordinary people could protect the world from chaos, now. There always was a part of all the gods which was just a regular person from their culture. Heroes took their place, at least mythologically.
