Hello,

I would like to examine the myths and backgrounds of Vadrus. I have this question in my mind "Could it be that Vadrus and Shargash are in some respects so similar that they could be recognized the same?"

I am afraid that most people might instantly reject answers yes, possibly, unlikely and even unknown (and such) and strike me with unquestionable NO from the bloody red planet - perhaps rigthly so.

Nevertheless (even if Vadrus and Shargash are definitely not the same) I would like to make my own journey of Valare Addi and find out what is the relationship

Greg Stafford was once asked about this, and his answer then (after silence) was that originally there migth have been a connection, but not any more. (I saw this on some RQ-Con-Compendium or some other similar fan-product.) It left me puzzled. I felt that the idea was extraordinary.

My hypothesis is that somewhere along the god's war "Vadrus may have replaced the original Shargash or become part of Shargash. My additional thought of the subject is that this might elucidate origins of Elmal, who may have been the original (inactive) Shargash."

I would appreciate your comments, knowledge and insight. Anyone intrested? - - even if just enough to argument me down.

My first specific inquiry is "What myths are there about final fate of Vadrus?"
"What else there is to know?" "Isn't his end very vaguely remembered?"

What I know is that Varus is said to be gone - not dead. From the Storm Tribe point of view this might mean that Vadrus was labeled Missed In Action. In the hellish war against armies of Wakhboth and Kajabor this equalled gone - beyond hope. And when at the Dawn nobody calling himself Vadrus showed up, that settled the fact.

So there migth be mythological or narrative room that something else happenned.

"Any worldwiew that isn't strange is automatically false."
