In a message dated 1/22/01 7:04:00PM, you write:

<< Now

that is secret murder, theft of a holy item, and a very strong  indication of Thanatar worship.>>

My advice would be to tell the offending clan's ring. Even enemy clans should do soemthing about a possible Tanatari in their midst. If they object to yuor slanders then ask them to prove he is not guilty. This is pre-trial bargaining

<<The murderer is from a very powerful clan, so the player-characters  are opposed to starting a blood feud with the other clan before other  options have been examined.>>

cowards!

<< How would they go about to get his bloodline
 to court?

It seems like a very time-consuming process if they have to drag both  clan-chiefs and both bloodlines before the tribal king at the quarterly  moot. Any suggestions on how heortling justice would handle such a case? >>

If it gets to the tribal king then it is either pretty serious, because the whole clan might be implicated in Thanatariness, or pretty trivial because you divinations are wrong...have been misinterpreted.,
